SHE is taking me to Italy for THREE weeks! I am excited and on burst!!!! MOTHER-IN-LAW has graciously come to look after the grand-kitties (who are NONE too pleased and look at her with GREAT disdain) but at least they will be fed and watered. Also, if she decides to crochet or knit us an afghan, the cats will have endless hours of entertainment pulling it apart and making forts from her wool.
I won't be able to blog for the next 3 weeks (because SHE says I have to take a holiday before I go COMPLETELY insane!) but when I get home, prepare for a BLOGAPALOOZA of daily blogs and boring photos of every door, church and cat in Italy.
Ciao for now!!!

HAVE A SEAT!

Tonight is our Bayman-Townie book club/dinner and needless to say our wicked cats will be up to no good while we are gone. We started putting out games for them in hopes that they will spend their time playing Scrabble and poker instead of tearing the house apart in our absence. SHE spent several hours teaching them to play cribbage. Pegging isn't a problem, but both Bear and Nana seem to be having trouble holding their cards.Countdown: MOTHER-IN-LAW ARRIVES IN 4 DAYS

Fairy Convention in Bryant's Cove!

On Friday there was a fairy convention in Bryant's Cove. We missed the fairies by minutes but were able to find their nests and tea party debris. Sophie, Ben and I wore disguises while we were fairy hunting and Sophie did a beautiful magic dance for the fairies while they watched from their hiding places.Thank you to the lovely man in the green house who let us hunt for the fairies under his magic tree...(which is the biggest maple tree in all of Newfoundland!)
Thank you to Sophie and Ben who did such a great job hunting! Next year, we will have to start earlier!!
Love, Aunty Cara

Seamus Can't Keep His Hands to Himself...
I have to admit, I AM rather difficult. I can be very demanding and often ask a lot of HER. I really put her to the test this past spring. One morning, I asked her to make me a giant, life-sized wooden octopus candelabra. SHE said "SURE!" How great is that? She had no reservations, didn't complain or ask questions (what's the point) and went out to her workshop and made it! He is a gorgeous fellow and he looks fabulous in the gallery window. We figure he costs around $45 per pound and that IS expensive for octopus, but you can't hold a candle to Seamus!Image: "Seamus Can't Keep His Hands to Himself" by Cara Kansala
